Friendly reminder: The best time to look for a new job is when you already have a job

Hi all, First of all, I love this sub. I started working after college in 2014 and as I’m coming up on my anniversary of working 8 years, I just wanted to share a really important tip – Always look for the next, better opportunity. In the past 8 years, I’ve worked 3 different jobs and while I haven’t hopped around too much, I’ve tried to be strategic in my moves. I went from making 35k/year (working 45-50 hours per week) to making 150k/year (working maybe 35 hours per week). I don’t say this to brag (I’m fully aware that 150k isn’t some insane amount of money), but as a reminder that good opportunities are out there and we always have to be on the lookout. Remember, you don’t owe your employer anything. You owe it to yourself. Good luck to all!
