New Activity Standards Meant to Increase Performance Backfire

I work for an organization that requires a minimum of 2 hours of over time/week for every employee in my section. We also have the option to voluntarily pick up an additional 36 hours of OT per pay period. Well apparently a handful of individuals have been abusing the OT system. They would clock in for their OT but only do 2-4 “actions” per hour (in this sense 'actions' are reaching out to clients per assignment, scheduling appts, delivering vital info to appropriate parties). Rather than directly dealing with the small handful of jagoffs abusing the system, the organization decided to set a new performance standard to pass annual evaluations. So they set the new standards at 12 “actions”/hr – successful, 14 “actions”/hr – Fully Successful, 16 “actions”/hr – Exceeds Expectations. Well, you can imagine how peeved I was by this standard considering I've been working here going on 3 years with an average of 36 “actions”/hr with absolutely zero acknowledgement or reward for going above and beyond.

These days I clear out 18 “actions” in thirty minutes of over time (making exceeds in all categories earns a decent bonus so I average pad to make sure I get it) then either leave or dick around on TikTok for those days when a check out email is required.

Anyone else been in a similar situation?
