Well let's make a long story short, previously worked two jobs one being entry-level sales $20/hr-31 miles away from where I live( So 1.18-hour drive back and forth), and decided to look for part-time work to replace my current job and save up for starting investing in online real estate, and open up possible online ventures, using my skills and trade.
(Sorry sales vibe showing itself: Hint. If you're ever looking to start an online venture, focus on items with low overhead.
build on *value*, and also scarcity for a quick sale, before people notice you are trying to sell them useless junk. Also if your using a timer on your website make sure it works, otherwise you just look dumb when the timer clicks down and the price stays the same, it kind of looks bad
(Example Price Point, and fear tactics(Cap):
Digital product 300 Dollars-600 Dollars, cap at 50
Coaching 1000-5000 Dollars, Audience Cap at 10
Event 3000 Dollars-15000, Audience Cap at 50- My trainer is at this level so don't ask me.
))
Lord behold I go to a staffing agency looking for a part-time job. Overall I've done sales and I know when someone is trying to sell me a crock of shit. Get through the sales pitch and all that, and now here she comes with a *Part-time job* starting $11 dollars per hour for a manufacturing job, like god be told.
Stepping outside for a quick moment to do a quick glassdoor search to know the company pays a minimum of 16 dollars an hour. With a few back and forth conversations, the pay was then settled at 14 per hour, yes I know I was getting royally fucked, my mindset is to stick out this 3-month contract then bogger off.
Getting to the job, (Only to learn that it is a full-time position- which meant my planned schedule of working 70 hours per week now has to be changed to 88 hours per week. With my mindset of wanting to save up 50k this year to start up my online store, I decided to put up with this shit, as we are in the state of Georgia with a low cost of living.) and having been there for a week, getting to know and learn a bit about my colleagues, I learned that each employee at the moment is making $19 per hour. Ok now, I'm pissed. Not mad that I was getting royally fucked, but mad at myself for putting up with this for a week, which resulted in my sales begin a bit lower than expected.
Knowing I'm getting such a large pay cut, and the temp agency is probably raking $40/hr for my efforts, I decided to call them up to put in my two weeks. Next thing you know I'm stuck on the phone for two minutes with the recruiter sayings something about loyalty, and staying for three months as I'm such an invaluable asset to the company, and I would definitely get hired before hanging up the phone.
The moral of the story, watch out for yourself. Overall, I think I'm done with this shit, at the moment, going into home jobs and the likes to slowly replace my reliance, while I focus on my actual passion within this growing digital age. Don't get me wrong $20/hr is good, but just the amount of accidents I almost get into on a daily basis is too much for my heart, also Direct marketing can kiss my a@$, Very scummy in regards to the customer quality, it is all about the numbers, doesn't matter if they are homeless, as long as the customer has a and email phone and can download the app. If you live in downtown Atlanta you will know what I mean.
