Happy for my job, but not delusional about why I was hired.

I keep being congradulated for getting my job because getting one at my place of employment is “difficult”. They insist that it reflects on my talent and skills. I'm not stupid enough to believe this. Competition for the job has either died of covid, retired, moved overseas, got a new job elsewhere or started their own business. Before that, I was only getting service jobs because any other jobs always rejected me. For nearly 20 years I would attend training skills workshops, resume classes, join temp agencies and spruce up my linked in page only to be rejected. I even have 2 bachelor's degrees. I'm glad I have this job, but the reality is that I got it because the competition thinned out. It's like winning a contest because the other contestants dropped out. I'm okay with that though.
