Managers kept giving me BS excuses about keeping me on the register and bullying me, so I quit.

So I’ve talked about this dogshit job before but to summarize: I became a store associate knowing full well my job duties would involve being on the register, and I specifically told the manager who interviewed me that I don’t think I’d be able to handle the register and that I should be on the floor for my own health. Welp, a few months after that the store became so hot that everyone who entered would be covered in sweat when they left. Jobs that should’ve taken me 10 minutes were taking me 30 minutes because I’d have to run all the way up to the front to wipe away the sweat and/or grab paper towels. So, I got a fan no bigger than your average smart phone (it’s closer to the size of a water bottle but phone is a better visual aid) to help with the heat. Managers…

Managers decided that I needed to be on register because “you’re using one hand and if you use one hand everyone else will want to use one hand”, even though I was using both hands. So once the heat goes away I begin to beg to be on the floor, especially since I’m getting my job threatened and being actively bullied by one manager for not getting enough rewards cards. Store manager kept cutting me off and saying “oh well I’m a busy guy, there’s on,y so much I can do at once plus you can’t be on the floor with your fan!” So, I spent over $100 of my own money to buy a neck fan and then he goes “oh well you can only be on the floor if you have open availability, it’s a new policy!” When I asked the other managers about this policy they said they’ve never heard heard of it.

Fuck that job and fuck hr for not doing shit and for trying to gaslight me into thinking bullying is ok.
