Hypocrisy In This Sub

For some reason this sub keeps popping up in my recommendations and I'm struck by the level of hypocrisy here. Especially in regard to tipping workers who make under minimum wage. Let me first say that the tip economy is insane. All workers should be guaranteed a minimum wage (which should be significantly higher), healthcare (which shouldn't even be tied to your employment in the first place), and a series of other benefits. That being said, the reality we all live with in America is that many service workers live off tips. We know that when we choose to go out to eat. I mentioned on a popular post by another user that if you're unable/unwilling to give a 20% tip for food delivery or on a night out, you should eat at home. That user said he “tips when he can” and I got downvoted. That's the most hypocritical…

That's the most hypocritical thing I can imagine.

You can't complain about how capitalism is a terrible system and that the “trickle down” theory doesn't work because people are greedy and disregard other people, then show that same greed and disregard for workers when you're enjoying services. You're just part of the exploitation at that point.

A lot of ya'll are on here won't even part with $4 to help the immigrant worker delivering your burrito at 3am.

I'm sure the majority of people on this sub are very nice hard working individuals, but if I see one more person complain about how they're a “wage slave”, while seeing nothing wrong with ordering food they can't afford to tip the actual laborer for, imma have an aneurism.
