Recently put in my notice at your average fast food joint. The pay in minimum wage. However, this location has an average turn over rate of 3 months. Mostly due the the batshit crazy owner. (Like she screams at you in front of guests)
Overall not a great working environment but it was close to home.
I told them I would need 3 weeks off because I was going on a trip. It’s a big deal as I had to apply to it and was accepted out of people from all across the country.
Well they said no. Since I’ve been there for 5 months I’m the highest ranked staff member and I have to train all new staff. (Even though I still don’t know how to make half our stuff cause no one trained me)
Well I said that’s fine and it’s now 2 weeks till my trip so I dropped off my notice that I’ll be quitting.
Cue “you can’t do that” “we need you” “you will never work here again” “this will look bad on your resume” etc.
I’m like it’s a minimum wage job. I make coffee. I can get a new job with the exact same pay pretty easily when I come back.
