My boyfriend got fired today from a retail job. We’re both college students. Part of his job is bringing orders out to cars. He was lifting something really heavy and ended up scraping his finger really bad. He lost a lot of blood and was unconscious for a few minutes. When he was able to walk again his supervisor said he couldn’t go home.
That was about a week ago and he didn’t fill out anything for workers compensation before getting fired. They fired him because he didn’t go in while his finger was healing since they would still make him lift stuff. Also because they would count it against him when he missed shifts to take a test. I was wondering if there’s anything he can do now that he’s fired. I know it’s a small injury but I hate how he was treated. Also just wanted to rant about this.
