Blackrock only really came into the spotlight after revealed that they've been buying properties in the thousands which gained a bit of attention but fell flat but it's actually insane how much these companies still own.
The last major discussion about blackrock was many months ago and chances are they've bought thousands of properties during that time.
Landlords are a massive threat but they exist as individuals, if they die or go broke the property can usually get back into public ownership but a corporation buying these properties effectively locks it away from public ownership for life.
How long will it be until all housing is bought up by these companies? Are we reaching a new age of neo-feudalism and instead of Kings being our lords it's corporations.
What becomes even more concerning is that these corporations don't just own housing, they own our technology companies, they own all of our media, they own all of our fast food chains, it's one gigantic monopoly, the only illusion being the different brands of names.
Even people like Bill Gates who gets praised as being some “good” billionaire for whatever reason is buying up insane amounts of farm land so we're even getting to a point in which even our farms are owned by corporations.
This is a troubling sign for our world and it marks our slow decent into a corporate dystopia in which they own everything and we own nothing. Compare that future to how things were 60 years ago in which the majority of businesses were small family businesses, corporations didn't how the power to influence our media and elections and even steal our housing.
Majority of people owned their own property and even farming was owned by the people for the people.
I don't think we realise just how much has been stolen from us. My biggest worry is that people will be ok with this and allow this as we enter a world in which corporations own the world.
That is not a world I want to live in.
