I worked at as a server at a whack ass restaurant that regularly took away our breaks when we were “short staffed” and made us do a ton of side work despite a $2.13 pay.
After finding a better serving gig at a nicer restaurant with better tips for less work and putting in my two weeks – my old boss called the chef at my new place and yelled at them for “scalping” their workers and basically nefariously stealing good labor.
I’m so glad I left but goddamn to think I was ~yours~ to be stolen in the first place! I’m a free agent, basically a mercenary, as a server and I thought you lovedddd the free market???
