A coworker is taking off for three weeks of PTO in May-June. Absolutely none of my anger is directed at him, you go dude.
Manager delegated scheduling to one of my coworkers, whose solution was for her and another longtime employee to literally have their normal schedules (including her take off Memorial Day), while having the part time person work full time for 3 weeks (she's fine with it, and SHE still gets 3 day weekends)
Me? 60 Hours, 60 Hours, 54 hours. Including four 12 hour shifts and two shifts with only 10 hours between them. And my “weekend” is literally a single day – and since it's late nights/overnights, there is going to be a three week stretch where I'm literally in the building every single calendar day for three weeks.
The coworker who cooked this nonsense up absolutely dislikes me and has tried to make my life a living hell and tried to run me off more than once. Sometimes I take the high road, sometimes I push back.
This time I'm genuinely thinking of saying “fuck it” and turning in a letter of resignation for the Friday before this nonsense starts. (There's basically no way for me to get fired that wouldn't be “for cause”, so screw it). I hate the job, the money's not worth it, I hate where I live, and my lease runs out in a couple months anyway and I have a few grand saved for a bug out anyway.
