I rejected a job offer because the Hiring Manager said I was being “Disingenuous” for not making my decision over Easter weekend

I’m trying to take the next step in my employment career because 1) because my experience lines up with senior level positions and 2) my current employer expects the world of me while under developing my needs for the position, crippling my growth and confidence at the position. The past 2 weeks I was sent three separate job offers. I wont give specific salaries but Job 1 offers me a position but requires me to move across the country. Job 2 send me an offer but its low. Job 3 sends me a good offer. Job 1 offer comes Monday. I say I cant move to CA Wednesday. Job 2 comes Tuesday and very lenient on my response time. Job 3 comes Thursday.

Now Job 3 salary is higher than the other 2 and its my top choice, but I felt like the position they are hiring me for is still worth more than they offered me. Basically they only take my experience value into account and not the positions responsibility. I bring that up and we speak on Friday. They basically say they are splitting the job into 2 positions until I can takeover, explaining the lower pay. Very reasonable. I say sure, I’ll let you know asap.

Weekend comes and its Easter and its hectic. Today, I email Job 2 saying a better offer came and I cant refuse it. They answer seemingly open for counter. I expect to accept Job 3 anyway

Job 3 proceeds to call me asking if I ve made a decision and “You come across very disingenuous” and kind of ask for a decision on the spot. I basically say Ive haven’t discussed it in length with my family especially since the holiday and I’ll get back with them at the end of the day. I also relent and apologize for being disrespectful (since Im on the spot). The manager begrudgingly says let me know.

An hour later, Job 1 comes back with an offer exceeding Job 3. I email them saying I’ll let them know tomorrow (depending if Job 2 counters), and immediately email Job 3 saying our futures don’t align, Im declining their offer. They respond. “Thanks” Thats the WHOLE email.

In hindsight Job 3 average age is 52 and Job 1s is 27. I think and feel like I dodged a bullet.
