So I've spent the majority of my life like many people working. But I honestly want to get some shit off my chest. I warn you ahead of time there will be foul language.
- You have to spend money to make money. If you don't get into a school with generous financial aid you have to go into debt. Want in the IT field? Degree isn't enough, you need to spend money to get certifications that will expire in 3 years unless you pay for it.
- Job listings state entry level, problem is you have to have 2+ years in a specialized field where no entry level jobs exist. So what are you supposed to do?
- Some jobs will make you fill out long applications with intricate details and make you take tests, only to deny you for the job the next day. You can't just send your fucking resume, which highlights your work experience.
- Some slime bag used car dealer like recruiter will call you and spend 30 minutes on the phone with you, only to tell you that you're not qualified enough, or over qualified. Alternatively they will try to low ball you on pay. I'm sorry I'm not working for 20 dollars an hour when I have ten years experience in my field. You get what you pay for.
- Buying fucking pizza on Friday doesn't make up for the shit environment, shit culture, shit pay and shit treatment.
- Recruiter will ask you stupid cliche questions, like whats your dream job? My dream job is to make billions like your CEO and sit on my ass and doing nothing. That's my dream job.
