this happened a couple months ago, i quit the day after as i could tell my boss was trying to edge me out and it was seriously effecting my health (started having meltdowns on the job because of the way she pushed me constantly).
small family owned company, menial labour but i really enjoyed it and was good at it. one day my boss pulls me into her office and tells me that i need to be anticipating what needs to be done without asking. i tell her that my autism makes it near impossible for me to know what people want of me without them telling me. I simply cant “read” between the lines socially.
boss says, in what sounded like a threat in retrospect, “well youre going to slow down your coworkers and theyre going to resent you for it” then went into a rant about a previous employee who was a drug addict???
i ask my coworker later if this was the case and she was absolutely furious that our boss would claim such a thing.
fuck that job. minimum wage isnt worth my sanity.
