Job interview ended poorly because I prefer remote work

I work in higher ed and have been applying to other positions within my university because I'm aware other departments are letting their employees work hybridly and I would prefer to do that since my current position is making me come into the office every day (despite me just working alone in my office). Anyway, I just had an interview that was going very well until I asked about their remote work situation. She told me they're doing 2 days a week in person/3 days remote, I was like “that's great!” and she followed up saying that she's aware other departments are back in office 5 days a week and so I told her that's what my department was doing. Then she kinda rambled on about how it's weird that she doesn't know people she works with because they don't work in person on the same days, and how it…

Then she kinda rambled on about how it's weird that she doesn't know people she works with because they don't work in person on the same days, and how it would be easier to train people if they came in 5 days a week. Idk, she was kinda implying she doesn't like her dept's hybrid policy.

I just had to rant cause I'm so mad that me being excited about hybrid may have costed me this job. I'm also frustrated because I see a lot of stuff on social media of people being like “well if you make me come back to the office, I'll work somewhere else!” Like it's so freaking easy to find another job that will let you work remote. I'm lucky I even have a job, I can't be that picky. I'm just soooo tired of being exhausted all the time. I am so much more productive at home, I hate dressing up, and I can do all aspects of my job easily online. I also had so much more energy to hang out with friends and do other things when I was remote. I'm just so tired. Ok, rant over.
