I have a job where I get paid Ok. I have a wonderful boss and the job isn’t very hard. However, looking around I see that some people in the same position are getting paid quite a bit more and now that I have the experience I may want to look for a higher paying job. So I need to update my resume, and although I don’t plan on writing a cover letter unless something is good enough for it, I looked up examples anyway. Holy shit. All of them said things like I work after hours and I make myself available for phone calls 24/7 and I respond to emails within so many hours. So you would just send that to someone to begin with?!! No way, most these jobs don’t even post the pay and your signing over your first born?! Stop cover letters for jobs that don’t even read them, stop entering your resume 3 times for one job, and quit signing over your soul to someone you haven’t even met. Thank god for this group making sure people know that they are worth more than all that.
