Just as the title says, could you explain to me why is that?
I've been applying for jobs and I'm getting a strong impression ever since I've joined workforce that many positions are gatekeeping certain people.
Do I mean learning Python or another language? No, that will take probably two months.
Medical skills, law or anything that requires mid to long training?
That's not what I mean as well.
What I have in mind are things that I find simple such as scheduling, politeness, managing and all the other jargon terms.
I don't see why learning basics of social media marketing or a program such as Salesforce (or similar) would pose a big challenge.
I'm looking through jobs and it becomes apparent to me that I'm treated as untrainable by potential employers.
I'm a little tired of the jargon and just today I saw someone describing a person who can use office suite as “tech savvy”. I'm sorry but to me that means something else entirely, it means that someone can use said programs and that's it.
Overall I feel looked down upon when they treat their silly positions in HR, administration or similar as if they are the pinnacle of human capability.
Thank you for reading my rant.
