Is it common to want to quit your job to run away and live off the land in the woods?

How common is this? I thought this desire was rooted in me and my wife's anxiety and not a widespread feeling, but someone else I know mentioned this too. It feels like society has been built in a way that is not sustainable for humans. Everyone's worth is measured in their productivity. If you don't work, or take alternative paths through life, people look down on you. Worker productivity has skyrocketed the last 50 years yet hours worked have remained the same (or in some industries increased). Why are we putting corporate profits first? Why not reduce the work week down to 20 hours? I feel as if I want to escape the rat race, move out to the woods, and live off the land, is this a common feeling?
