Long story short, I applied for a job, nothing about compensation in the posting ( IT Generalist position ) they respond very quickly wanting to schedule an interview.
Great, I ask for the pay band of the position, just so we don’t waste each other’s time, and I get this response
“if you would like to provide me with your salary expectations then I can review with the hiring manager and let you know”
Does this not grind your gears when your question is answered with a question ?
What is the best way to respond without lowballing yourself?
