Co-Worker Made Crazy Comment Before I Left Work

So I leave work at 3PM. To add context I have a different schedule than everyone at my job. The regular schedule is 8:30-5 but I negotiated a new schedule because I was going to leave and start a new job. The reason being is I needed a new schedule so I can get home on time to watch my son so my fiance can get to work. She stays home with the baby all day while I work. Luckily she works part time (2-3 hours a day) and still makes decent money. But not enough to afford childcare, just enough to pay the bills. 7 people were off today (3 we're call outs).

I clocked out at 3 like I do everyday and a co worker made a comment saying “Where are you going? There's a lot of work and no people?”. I responded saying I have to go home, I didn't need to give an explanation. And he says “Wow this is crazy”. Then walks away angrily.

It rubbed me the wrong way but I was like you know what, whatever. My family come before a job that doesn't appreciate my hard work anyways. I worked 50+ every week last year and only got a 75¢ raise. I work hard but I'm not stupid. There's no point of giving your all to your job just to get pennies.

I can't afford childcare and if I was the only one working I couldn't afford to pay the bills by myself. I have to leave at 3
