So I'm not 100% sure if this fits here, but I just needed to get it out. I work for a property management company, and one of my jobs is doing pre-qualifications for potential tenants on our available properties. It is so heartbreaking how many people I cannot help who are in dire situations just because their credit scores are not high enough or they don't bring home two and a half times the monthly rent. In terms of landlords, my boss is by no means a slumlord and we receive a lot of compliments on how quickly we get tenant issues taken care of, but I still can't shake the inherent problem that is making a basic human right a commodity. I need the job and it's a good work environment (I literally wanted to catch covid to have an excuse to stay home from my last job) which is rare these days, but I really do hate this part of it.
