Background: My boss is 66.
At work we’re hiring someone new and I asked my boss what we were offering them. She said that it’s against the rules for me to ask what someone’s wage is. This I know for a fact is not true. My position requires me to know every rule in the employee handbook and there is no mention of not being allowed to discuss wages with co-workers. When I called her out on her lie she back pedaled and said it’s part of corporate conduct. I told her no it’s not. There’s no such thing as a corporate conduct rule book lmao. She got frustrated and I finished the conversation by saying I’ll ask whatever questions I want to ask.
