This happened more then a year ago but I just found this sub out so I wanted to share it anyway. Also this is in the Netherlands so very different laws etc.
I worked at domino’s as a pizza deliverer. But they were gonna get rid of the scooters and made us all drive around on electric bicycles. A new competitor opened and I applied and got hired as a scooter driver for them. I wanted to keep both jobs to make more money. then the other job asked if I could work on Saturday but I had to work on Saturday at domino’s so I looked for a replacement for that Saturday. I found one so I texted my supervisor for that day and they were fine with it. Then at saturday while I was working I got a text from my boss. She asked where I was and I texted her I got a replacement. My boss says: Bob (my replacement) was already coming in today. Me: I got him as my replacement and the supervisor was fine with it.
Boss: you said it to the wrong supervisor. Because jake is actually the supervisor from 16:00-22:30. So if you don’t come in today you’ll get an official warning!
I was really pissed of at this point and had another job which was way more fun and had way better co-workers.
So I said: if you’re gonna give me an official warning for something that’s not my fault I quit and won’t come in ever again.
Then she went on saying if you don’t work another month then you won’t get paid. Bla bla bla. I didn’t take the threat seriously ofcourse but they really weren’t gonna pay. So after nagging for 2 months I said I was gonna take it to court, and finally they paid.
I know this story is really long but I just wanted to share this.
