long story short, had to pay off a tax bill from 2019 to nov 2022, wages were being garnished as well by tax department.
discover wages still being garnished after nov, rang tax department and they said they havent got any payments and didnt know anything about it.
HR at work gave me the run around for 2 weeks with a few curt emails and then eventually a 3 way call with the tax department.
The fucks had stopped sending garnishments to tax department in March 2020!! and pocketed it instead. Now Im getting it all back but im fucked off its like “oh look at that…we took 11k, sorry about that, here you can have it back…..see you monday”
Seems…..i dunno, deflating to know they took 24% of my take home cash during a pandemic and lockdowns and just sending it back is the end of it….dunno what I expect but more than oops would be appreciated.
