I don’t agree with the sentiment “if u can’t afford to pay your employees better wages you shouldn’t have a business”

a lot of smaller businesses and medium size businesses depending on the industry, location, etc can’t afford to pay their employees more than 12$ a hour without making it not worth it to even own or run a business anymore, and people could disagree but what happens when those smaller businesses close we have to go to giant commercial business that can afford to pay their employees and don’t….I see a lot of posts bitching about local restaurants and small business not paying employees good wages and people shredding the business’s to shreds people need to understand that a business doesn’t need to just be “profitable” it needs to be worth it to run….if I spend 10$ and 5 hours of my time making something and sell it for 13$ I made a profit most of u guys would be telling me that’s good enough cuz I made a profit…
