Quitting my job at Walmart

I’m 23 years old, I’ve been working at Walmart as a team lead in training for around 6 months, I just promoted myself to customer around 20 minutes ago and I’d like to share with you my experience working there. The job paid pretty well, working overnights I got paid 18.50, however the pay was not worth the emotional toll. our managers cut people’s hours after the holidays and if they cut them enough they get a pay raise on their salary by our store manager, so that means multiple people getting let go, people going entire weeks without being put on the schedule, my managers also ignored doctors notes for people being put on light duty and would just fire people who didn’t work fast enough with a broken arm/leg, they are now dealing with more than 6 lawsuits in less than 3 months with 24 requests from overnighters…

I’m 23 years old, I’ve been working at Walmart as a team lead in training for around 6 months, I just promoted myself to customer around 20 minutes ago and I’d like to share with you my experience working there. The job paid pretty well, working overnights I got paid 18.50, however the pay was not worth the emotional toll. our managers cut people’s hours after the holidays and if they cut them enough they get a pay raise on their salary by our store manager, so that means multiple people getting let go, people going entire weeks without being put on the schedule, my managers also ignored doctors notes for people being put on light duty and would just fire people who didn’t work fast enough with a broken arm/leg, they are now dealing with more than 6 lawsuits in less than 3 months with 24 requests from overnighters to switch to days because how we get treated after the doors close, being given unreasonable hours to finish stocking an aisle while being critically understaffed, ignoring family bereavement and actually messaging staff that if they did not come in they would be fired or get an occurrence (5 of these and you’re fired, although the managers let their friends and people they like rack up 10+ occurrences and don’t do anything about it). I worked 10pm to 7am and I had put time in to leave 3 hours early the night before and at the start of my shift tonight I was approached by my manager and she proceeded to start screaming at me during our team meeting for calling out “without pto” she stood there and yelled at me about my performance for 15 minutes in front of the entire night stocking team, and I just calmly waited until she finished and proceeded to show her the screenshots I took of the available pto I had as well as the approved request for the time off and she calmly said “well let’s get that to HR and get this fixed” while smiling, it was that smile that did it. I took off my vest, threw it at her feet and said I quit, when my manager asked “did someone say something negative to you” I simply replied “some lady tried critiquing me about my job performance when she can’t even run the store properly herself”. I then said my goodbyes to the friends I had made there and am happily sitting at my desk currently searching for new employment opportunities. I apologize for the grammar mistakes and didn’t intend this to be so long, just wanted to share my experience of quitting a terrible job.
