They want votes and are only slightly less evil/marginally better at pretending than the right. I truly believe they intentionally play off each other and set up the public because they know most folks are only voting by sound-bites. Tons of secret meetings where they say/act in inflammatory ways.
Let's be real: If the Democrats truly cared about “the people” they'd have found the money and backbone decades ago to implement massive reforms throughout society.
What have they actually done? Fuck all is what. They gave us the New Deal nearly 100 years ago and Civil Rights 3 decades later. All good things, but too spread out and since 1964 have fully coasted on that as if it makes up for our current issues in society. It does NOT!
Bad things they've done: They gave us NAFTA that cratered blue collar jobs across the South. They were complicit in weaponizing the Police and the War on Urban City Centers. Only a handful tried to prevent our needless war in the Middle East. While in complete control we received a very nutered Obama Care that is a shell of what was promised. Helpful to a few, but not what we voted for. We still have student loans and they've had the ability to cancel them any moment. National rent control they have gladly handed back and stripped away debt protections as many are struggling now more than when Covid initially hit.
There is no freedom. We have no choice. They're intentionally playing off each other to enrich and empower themselves and the majority are too enraged at “the others” to see it.
They want us to be at war with each other, so they don't have to worry about us coming for them.
Edit: I KNOW the American Left isn't truly left. That's the entire point of my post. Makes me sick when I get on first thing in the morning and the top voted post by far is from a guy in his mid-40's waxing poetic about how we'll be saved by the American Left.
