I found out that the last three days I have been inhaling silica dust. My boss did not inform me about this and thus didn’t tell me to wear any protection. (I’m a younger guy and I just do this for a paycheck, so I had no clue about the silica stuff. I also have been working here less than a year, and the training hasn’t been the best.)
I found out today because I started working on some stuff that was newer and there were finally warning labels on it. I took the labels home with me and I took pictures of the ventilation system that they don’t use. Today I wore a mask, but still had exposure before I found a mask myself.
I guess I’m just curious if there can be any legal action taken against them because I had no clue; and they’ve been in this business for ages. I feel like I should have been told this.
Edit: clarity on a sentence.
