Both had been working since their 20's. It's just unbelievable, both also have savings just not in ten of thousands.
So either they cant never have a house or I need to add myself in the mortgage and live with my parents for more years.. Which I cant do as I have a kid coming up.
Edit:
To people asking why they havent saved up after 20 years working, we used to live from paycheck to paycheck till I turned 18 and started working + studying.
Their money mostly go to rent + food + utilities, after that they also give money to their families from their homecountries which makes it impossible for them to save up large sum of money monthly. They only tried buying a home this year as I am now independent and have been helping them pay rent.
Im not blaming the bank or anything, I was shocked that instead of saying “You were denied for insufficient funds” they got “Your age is too high for us to help”. I mean who wont be shocked after that?
Edit 2: I did a bit of research and it seems that in SPAIN it is common for mortgage to be denied if you're in your 40's going to 50's as it is a risk. This is not the only case and happened to multiple people.
