Should I try to unionize the company I work for?

I work for a manufacturing company in California. I like this company for what it stands for and the products they provide but myself and my coworkers are all overworked and UNDERPAID. Our turnover rate is through the roof because of these factors and our terrible working conditions contribute as well so it’s hard to keep good employees. We have benefits but the company barely contributes to them so they’re not that great. I’ve addressed this to senior management but they always say that’s the best they can do but I know it’s not. I would like to stay at this company because I’ve been here for 8 years and I’ve watched this company grow to what it is today also I can’t stand looking for other jobs. So should I try to start a union here to help my coworkers and myself negotiate better pay, benefits, and working conditions?
