Ughhhhhhh I’ve got so many horror stories and if you want to hear some of them I’ll be glad to spill the tea.
I (24f) have been working at a Zaxbys in the US for over 5 years now under the same management and maybe it was me being hopeful, but I saw myself moving up and this being my “forever” job. I’ve been begging my district manager to let me be a manager while I’ve just been fed lie after lie. This is also after he allowed his BIL to be a manager after being with the company for around 2 months (dated a few years ago) and he just let another male employee that just graduated highschool to be a manager several months ago.
I told him “sometimes I feel like you won’t let me be a manager and it’s because I’m a female” his response was “I’m married to a feminist so I would never discriminate based off of sex”………..
Someone PLEASE tell me I’m not going crazy. Also, I’ve reached out to upper management (the other district manager above mine and the store owner) about a few instances involving just me and their response was the same gaslighting that my district manager shows me on a daily basis. I’m so ready to leave.
