Former HR manager here. At my last company we introduced video interviews a few years back as a way to reduce recruiter headcount. Er, I mean, as an efficiency measure.
For every job we posted we had 300 to 500 applicants. Each applicant did video interviews. The best five to ten applicants would get their interviews watched after the applications were screened. The rest never saw the light of day.
Your time is free and server space is cheap. Recruiters salaries aren't.
