What is the average workday schedule like outside of the USA?

Just curious… I am a salaried employee and though I do some occasional overtime, putting in 10-12 hr days, i keep it to 8 hours 90 percent of the time. I get a one hour lunch and usually come back a little late. 6 years ago I was told I needed to be at work at 8am, but somehow changed my shift on my own to 8:30am-5:30pm.
