I'm 21 and I live in a transitional living program (basically they help me pay rent, teach life skills, ect.) that has also given me a temporary job that I've worked at for a year and a half. Currently, I'm trying to find a new job that has better pay and a more “normal” work environment. To encourage me to go out and find one, I'm losing hours at my current one, about 10 hours to be exact (Keep in mind, I make minimum wage).
I've applied at nearly 20 places, and I've had FOUR places contact me. Three of them told me I wouldn't be considered, then the other one I interviewed at.
That place told me they'd continue in the hiring process and they'd email me an offer letter on Friday after I called them to check on the process after hearing nothing for four days. Today (Monday) I STILL didn't have it so I called in to see what was up.
I didn't get the assistant manager (the person I had been talking to) this time, so I asked for the manager because he would know right?
Wrong.
He didn't even know the assistant manager interviewed me and THE POSITION I WAS APPLYING FOR WAS ALREADY FULL.
So I tell my manager about this and how I probably won't take the job (if I even get an offer for it). In response, he says I might be losing MORE hours because I'M NOT SHOWING RESULTS.
I've sent him proof for EVERY APPLICATION I've put in, shown him how the only responses I get are being told I'm not getting considered, this one just doesn't know I exist, and I'M not working hard enough!?
I've had 3 jobs before this too, one of them made me want to kill myself, another just wasn't paying me enough to continue there, an the third wouldn't give me hours or let me do anything. Hell, I got that last one while working my current job and the second one I had before working my current job and I worked it while working here.
Am I just, un-hireable or something?
