Hi, can I get peoples opinion on what happened the other day.
I was sat on my lunch break about to go back to work when my boss comes in a starts shouting at me that I’ve been on lunch for 1h10 (I’d taken 40mins)
I work as mechanic at a small garage, he said that I went off down the yard at 11:30 (I didn’t I was working on a car) and now it was 12:40 and I’m still on lunch, I said to him that I didn’t but all he kept saying back was that he knows I did and he watched me on the cameras (I doubt this as I’ve had to show him how to use the cctv system before and he didn’t really get the hang of it, I doubt he’s got a app on his phone but it’s possible)
And then he said I’ve to ask the other lads when they saw me go on lunch.
I didn’t see the point in dragging in other people…
I went to wash my hands at 11:50 as I was worked up on my job waiting for a part (that my boss forgot to order) then went back to the car I was working on and tidied up a bit till 12, then took my 40mins.
I found it all a bit strange to be honest. I’m not sure where he got this from. One of the young lads is always on his phone and always off to the toilet for 10/15mins at a go. And when I brought this up my boss acted like I had just tried to chuck a nun under a bus. I gave up with the argument and almost packed up my tools and quit but my partner said don’t do anything silly. This is the second time he’s been rude about something I didn’t do in a couple of months, but 99.9% of the time is the nicest bloke…
My partner said maybe he’s just getting stressed and taking it out on the wrong person, I’m the highest paid person here so he does expect more from me, which he does get…
Anyway I’ve found another job and start soon. When I tell him I’m leaving should I say anything about that incident?
Thanks
