I always wanted a job when I was a kid. When I turned 16, I got my first job as a pizza delivery driver. It was a hard job, only flip phones existed then. There was a 6 foot map of San Diego on the wall and you would trace out the roads and write down the directions. Driving while manically looking at every street sign.
34 now and have worked consistently since age 16. I have held jobs such as Sea World, Bus Boy, School Bus Driver, Bus Taut, Barista Twice, Valet, Burger Cook, Car Insurance Agent, Final Expense Insurance Agent, Picture Frame Fabricator, Fine Artist, Auto Claims Adjuster, Motorcycle Dealership Vehicle Transporter, Term Life Insurance Broker, Über driver, AT&T Internet Installer, Pizza Delivery, and Oil Change Technician.
The last three positions I've held were term life insurance broker, final expense life insurance agent, and automobile claims adjuster. The three most horrible jobs of them all. Reliant Direct Ins. Svcs. I sold $200,000 in premium in 6 months and only made $400 in 6 months commission selling major companies like Prudential, Banner Life Ins Co, and Mutual of Omaha. Final expense is funeral insurance which is a huge market for the elderly, who on social security income cant afford it and spend the food money every month so their children won't have to pay to bury them. They fired me when I was catheterized due to a medical issue for being 1% away from reaching my quota of sales. Lastly the auto claims adjuster position I was highly effective and worked myself into a froth for $24/hr 5 days a week attempting to complete the daily 12 hours of work they gave me each 8 hour day. I tried so diligently to appease them and bend over backwards. Everyday was choosing what to get in trouble for because it was impossible/unreasonable. I resigned after the job caused me to have clinical insomnia and poor mental health.
All this has taught me to never work for someone else again. For the reason you all feel and have, this is why. It defeats the human spirit and cages the soul.
I am going to open a successful towing roadside assistance business one truck and one contract at a time until I am independently wealthy. The system doesn't make it easy to do but thats what we need to do. For many reasons, corporate take over prevention, freedom, independent wealth, pride in your work, and a sense of obligation to serves ones highest and best.
For those who feel inspired to start your own life as truly yours. Find a moment to make some quick calls / internet searches / etc. and start before its too late. Look at all the migrants that have started successful businesses everywhere.. Say it and it shall become. And so it is, Amen. 🤜🤛
