I gave a two week notice…

I was working for a restaurant. To get the job I interviewed for a line cook position but told them I wanted to transition to FoH on account of graduating bartending school. The restaurant has been good to me but after about 2 1/2 months I noticed the transition wasn't really happening. I'd get an average of one bar shift a week so I started looking for other opportunities. Another opportunity presented itself and I said that due to the positive experience I've had with this restaurant, I wanted to give a two week notice. No problem. Except even though I gave a two week notice they didn't put me on the final week's schedule. So I ended up not working for a week for neither company. Here I was trying to do the right thing because of the fair treatment I felt I had been shown, but just to ultimately get burned out of a week's wages.
