Around 12 months back I made a jump to a medium sized startup and the perks and culture seemed so amazing and I was really excited to start.
On the first day itself, the boss gave an hour long speech on how this place is for those who see this as a career and not as a job and I was not even sure what the difference was.
Down went six months and the appraisal came, I got a 2 of 5 coz apparently doing one's work and sticking to the shift time means unsatisfactory work or just getting by.
The only one's that got above 2 was those who stayed up late and acted like they don't have a life outside the office
Gave notice a week later. got into a better company ,the pay is a bit low but hey I am living .
