I got written up today for eating an icecream (McDonald’s)

Currently writing this while working back cash, look at me go. Anyways, I got written up today for making a flurry for myself and not typing it in the register, because if you don’t type it in then it’s considered theft. Im not against this policy per say, I’d understand it completely IF the higher ups weren’t being hypocritical assholes. EVERYONE (including managers) will sneak some food during their shift. My manager saw me with the flurry and started yelling at me in front of everyone and called the GM to ask if she wanted me terminated. One of my coworkers went and registered it in for me but he said it didn’t matter because he caught me before it was registered. My manager saw me with the flurry and started yelling at me in front of everyone and called the GM to ask if she wanted me terminated. One of my coworkers went and registered it in for me but he said it didn’t matter because he caught me before it was registered.

I got called into the office later, and he said that I’m lucky GM is in a good mood and that I’m just getting written up. I’ve worked here for almost 2 years and have never been written up before (luckily I’m leaving soon for college). While in the office, he told me he had to yell at me in front of everyone to basically “make an example out of me.”

Management loses their shit when I eat a unaccounted for McFlurry, meanwhile they’re having crew members fill out false surveys to boost the ratings and making the GM look good. The GM also asked me to me give them $50 to replace lost money in the register, to which they paid me back with a $50 Amazon gift card and told me to keep it “hush hush”.

Also to answer a question that I know I’ll get: the reason why I didn’t just type the flurry into the register myself is because there’s a glitch here that makes it to where you need a finger print to place certain things in. Fingerprints are really only given to managers. I planned on just typing it in as my crewmeal when I got a break. I didn’t see the point in pulling someone away from their job because I was hungry.
