A fallen business owner fails to see the irony

I worked for a CPA and a man previously earning $200,000/year as a business owner came to me as a completely broken man. First, it started with his refusal to get health insurance because “freedom.” He developed severe stomach pains and didn't want to go to the hospital because that's expensive. He ended up riding there in an ambulance anyway and spending a month in the ICU in an induced coma. And the hospital bill wasn't even his biggest problem. While he was hospitalized, his sales manager had gone to all his customers and told them the guy was dying and to sign contracts with him. He no longer had a business. He wasn't paying his bill with us, but begged us to work with him. He explained: “I'm working for someone else now… They only pay me $15/hour… That's what I used to pay MY workers… I can't survive…

I can't survive on that!

I did my best to keep a straight face and act understanding, but lmao.
