I work in a small mom and pop restaurant. They're good people, really friendly, but how they deal with breaks is annoying.
I'll work a solid 8-12 hour day, not getting a lunch break, and rather than even just getting it tacked on the end of my shift to hit overtime, they put the break in the middle of my shift.
This has lead to me losing 30-50 dollars a week and I am starting to get real pissed. Hell, I'll help the front of house and not even get tipped out by the greedy-ass entitled waitress. They're not in the best financial situation, I get it. But that's no excuse.
I'm this close to just leaving, and thinking about suing for my stolen wages. I could count the number of breaks I've had in the past 5 months on one hand, so it'd be a decent chunk.
If you're wondering, I'm in NY, but they have like 10 employees, so I get paid 12.50 an hour.
EDIT:Looked it up, and they aren't even paying me minimum wage. FML.
