I saw a post on here about a person leaving on time while on a salary and people who are on a salary generally work more than 40 hours a week.
So it got me thinking. Assuming a person got paid overtime, what would their hourly rate have to be to make the same amount of money as a person who makes 50k salaried.
Annual Salary of Hourly Workers.
To make 50k annually, an hourly worker would have to make $24 an hour at 40 hours per week, $15 an hour at 50 hours per week, or $11 per hour at 60 hours per week.
Not including bonuses and commissions, a person devalues their labor when they consistently work more than 40 hours a week.
On the title. With a 60k salary, a person's hourly rate goes from $30 dollars an hour at 40 hours per week to $14 dollars an hour when they work 60 hours per week.
This probably doesn't happen nowadays but if you consistently work over 60 hours a week, with no bonuses or commissions for anything under 26k annually you make the minimum wage of 7.25 an hour.
