Title. It was bad enough that they wanted a credit check as part of a background check during the hiring process, but now it's been announced that these background checks will be annual for all employees, specifically criminal record and credit report checks.
In their lukewarm defence this requirement came from their lender clients, many of which are major banks, but why the fuck do the banks care about the credit score of the engineers making the software? Are they so scared of the working class that they don't want “filthy poor people” touching the code??
