Now they are complaining that they thought I could do a better job:-)
Little more details:
- Had to change jobs for health reasons and decided to take a temporary, low-stress job
- My health got better, company discovered that I was way better than they had assumed from the interview (I was struggling with anxiety and burnout during that time, so yeah)
- Soon got more responsibilities and I went a bit above and beyond
- Requested a raise to reflect the quality of my work
- Was told, that the payment is tight to my role and that my Role and that I might be overqualified for the Role
- I told them: Fine. But this role doesn't include X and Y and I don't want to hear complaints if I don't deliver X and Y (X and Y are basically all senior tasks and more stressful stuff with higher responsibility).
- They agreed
- So I adjusted my work/output to my Role
- They are not happy. I didn't get any real criticism, it's more like this: I thought you had experience with X. So I don't understand why the project failed.
- I could have saved the project and supported the struggeling project manager, who probably earns much more than I do, but that is not part of my job.
