Multiple in person interviews, phone calls with head of people, a panel interview with hiring managers.
Company leadership and I completely aligned on the gist of the role, expectations, expanding the business, etc. But we did not talk about salary specifically, my mistake.
Head of HR calls to talk shop post interviews and I was explicitly clear with my salary targets, my title expectations and told her everything we agreed to in interviews. She agreed that all seemed in line with the role as described but not sure about the title, since typically people need to work there a bit to earn that title, fine.
Finally get a written offer:
– 20% lower than the agreed upon salary
– significantly lower title
– medieval benefits with the strictest possible interpretation of the law (cannot use PTO or sick leave for the first 90 days, if you have not been there a year and you get sick for more than 3 days they can just fire you, no family leave unless you have put in 1250 hours billed + one year of service)
Just insulting.
