I’m 47 and haven’t looked for a job in a while but I keep hearing about people getting interviews and then an online interview and then a second interview and then a back ground check and then a phone interview and then a drug test and then a group interview with the top 5 candidates and then if you make it through all that then you might start work a month later. Maybe certain areas of business but all the jobs I got were hey come in Friday at 2, 30 minutes talking to some guy about what they do and what salary I expect. The he says ok we’ll Offer you the job, come in Monday at 8 and we’ll get you started or we’ll call you next week which meant you didn’t get the job. What is the company learning in the 5th interview they didn’t find In the first one? Why do you have to talk to 12 different people to get 1 job? I’ll show my privilege and say that the job I’ve had for the last 13 years as an architect I got when I showed up and the boss took me out for a smoke break and I had the job before he was done. I knew how to do what he needed and he needed people. Why are companies making it such a huge thing? Your out of work you can’t wait 6 weeks to get the job and another 2 weeks before the first check. It’s madness. Anyways just thinking
