My father passed on Wednesday – during my PTO that I took because he was sick with cancer, so I went out to see him.
I work remotely for a tech company. I'm based in NY, the company in MS.
According to the NY State FMLA website, I can only get bereavement time if I've been there for more than a year. I was hired in November.
I'm not handling his death well, and now I need to return to work on Monday.
