Need Some Advise on Payment

I started my internship earlier this month (May 2nd) and I have worked M-F 40 hours a week. On my acceptance letter I was told I was to be paid $16 an hour and could not work more than 40 hours a week. Last Friday I was super excited about payday (poor college student) and it never came. I thought maybe I would wait until Monday (today). I woke up and nothing has been deposited so I reached out to HR. This is the email I received back: “The hourly employees are paid two weeks behind & we get 2 pays per month. Usually on the 15th and 30 or 31st of month unless it falls on a weekend. Does this seem right? I have to wait a month to get paid for 2 weeks and then wait another 2 weeks to get paid for the previous 2 weeks?

I currently reside in Arizona and this breaks ARS 23-351 specifically section 1. Here's what I can't decide. It was really hard to achieve an internship and I'll need it if I want to graduate this year. I have no more money to pay for college. Should I inform my employer that they are breaking Arizona law by not paying me within a 2 week payroll (or 7 business days afterwards)? In hopes they'll wise up and pay me accordingly. Or do I take this straight to the labor board and try for another internship assuming I am fired?
