Just found out my boss has been having me do something for months all while knowing it was illegal.

I work in an office of a start-up (non-tech) and when I started as their first office manager, my boss asked if my contact information could be used for this online database that many of the other employees use when researching. Reasoning being, I would be in the office more often than he was. The database requires 2 factor authentication and needs to be connected to a phone number in order for anyone to log in. I looked up “X Company terms of use violation” and found dozens of articles spanning over a decade giving example after example of aggressive litigation they've brought on companies and individuals who have done exactly what my boss has been asking of me.

Now I'm drafting an email to request my information being taken off the account but I can't help but feel uncomfortable as hell that I was ever put into this position to begin with. The whole reason I chose to work here was because during my interview with the two founders, they both expressed to me how they started the company because of the way their previous employer treated employees, but I highly doubt they were coerced into doing something illegal.

Mostly posting this to vent but if anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it. I've been debating sending the email asking for my information to be removed as I'm wondering if I should talk to a lawyer first.
