At my last company, we moved our regional office in 2019. We went from an old mill yard building to a modern high rise that was completely redesigned and built out for our company. It was gorgeous, and once we moved into the new space, there was a big party. Of course, we had food (sandwiches, not pizza), the mayor visited… and the mascot of a local NFL team, along with some cheerleaders.
Some pictures were taken, including the cheerleaders, and employees posted to LinkedIn with comments about being happy to work for this company and excited for the new offices.
HR immediately called and ordered everyone to take down the inappropriate pictures because it was not in line with corporate image and values to sexualize women.
HR PLANNED THE PARTY! I refused, as I was quitting anyway.
